"It's not competitive," you said, failing to realize that that's what the winner said, and you did. With my head in the dirt, I can't breathe, and I can't look up to you. And as my lungs fill up quick, my hands are shaking, the earth is quaking, cut me off. And all of this is just complaining, invalidating who I am.

And if the mirror looks back, says "I don't like you; I live to spite you," you don't stand a chance. Against all that I've learned, I can't dismiss it, it always visits, it's who I am.

"It's not competitive," you said. Well maybe you're right - maybe the fight is all in my head.
